” It is a good day to die “
You know it’s a great day in music when you realise your two most favourite bands are releasing an album, or are in the midst or recording a new one.
Radiohead: I forget the weblink, but i clearly saw a text saying that they have stepped into the studios once again to record their new album.
New album = New tour = New potential to catch them.
Incubus: Monuments & Melodies will be released 16th June. A double disc set, compilations on one, b-sides and rarities on the other.

If i could croon
Desker Rocker asked me randomly ” If you could have the ability to sing one song only, and not be able to sing any other at all, what would it be ? “.
Recently i’ve come to appreciate many new artistes that i have found thanks to the immersion in youtube and random wikipedia notes.
Razorlight, Elbow, Minus the Bear, Postal Service. Maybe i need more time to really immerse myself in their songs, but at themoment their songs do not impact me the way my more personal classic songs do.
I’ve considered many powerhouse rockers like Freddie Merc, Bon Jovi and the Gallagher brothers. Maybe even Sinatra, Craig David, guy from Calling or Creed.
But singing Bohemian Rhapsody isn’t exactly appealing.
Bon Jovi may appeal if i was targeting more mature women.
Having a voice like Noel or Liam wouldn’t exactly be two steps up the ladder.
I decided that the song, would unconventionally be Echo by Incubus only because it’s so beautifully worked by the band, and sung by my if-i-was-gay idol Brandon Boyd.
I’ve heard music here and there from afar and Brandon Boyd really tops everyone else in my own opinion because he encompasses so many diff ranges of music, from heavier sounds to the mellowness and pitch hitting notes. Compare songs like ” Talk Shows on Mute ” to ” Pardon Me ” to ” Here in my Room “.
He writes beautifully, and always seems to be positively possesed whenever he belts tunes out.
I love the lyrics for this song, Echo. The day that i’ll be able to write something so fascinating will be a day of nirvana for me.
There’s something about the way you move
I see your mouth in slow motion when you sing
More subtle than something someone contrives
Your movements echo that I have seen the real thing
Your biggest fear will be the rescue of you
Strange how it turns out that way
Could you show me dear
Something I’ve not seen
Something infinitely interesting
Could you show me dear
Something I’ve not seen
Something infinitely interesting
Your love is a verb, here in my room
