Salute your solution
” It’s nothing ” always means that there is something.
How often have we used this term whenever we are posed with a uncomfortable scenario or question, which always leaves the questioner wanting to know more, sometimes to the point of irritation.
Women, and maybe at times very bitterly emotional men like myself at times, like to use the phrase ” It’s nothing ” in a contradictory context, where it always means that indeed there is something going on, and they expect to the comforted, rationalised and most importantly, not be ignored.
Yet often, personally i have used the phrase it’s nothing particularly when i do not feel comfortable sharing the issues with certain people around me, for knowing that they will not understand, that they would probably give lousy advice and most importantly their mockery and lack of judgement will just cause me to freefall into a greater state of pity and depression.
Phrases like ” Haha, nothing lah like that lor ” or ” Nothing, serious, serious, nothing is going on ” have been used by myself and many around me alike.
But deep down inside we ourselves know what’s going on, and whom we share it with really makes a difference.
So i’ll pause this game, so our love will never end.
