Zen Music Zen

Somehow i can’t stop talking about music and the effect and emotions  that it has driven onto me,  everyday turning on my itunes is a different experience altogether as my 10gb of song compilation always surprises me.

nullTo me shuffling the tunes on my mp3 player or iTunes is an adventure of randomness altogether. Knowing not what turns up next leaves a sense of anticipation altogether. I Love it when i can guess the song after the first strum, pick or instrumental and i smile to myself inside whenever i do or whenever a old tune i used to love just comes along.

I like it when i’m forced to listen to songs that seem all to familiar, and i take a mental note of it before scouring information portals to see where i had heard it from. The comfort and satisfaction at the end of knowing what it was not only provides relief, but it triggers past emotions and situations that i get to reflect on.

Time to buy the new Ipod Shuffle.

I have many friends that i relate to songs as well. Though some should just be forgotten, i like to hold on to the fact that many a time the things we do are more of an experience rather than a mistake.

One Night in Beijing reminds me of a poly mate who could hit the notes.

Californication reminds me of a crazy guy in secondary school who nearly killed himself.null

I Will follow you into the dark reminds me of a recent personnel.

November Rain reminds me of Desker Rocker.

I also love it when a random song comes about and i check out the name of the artistes, google them, youtube them, myspace them.

Getting to know a new band is just like getting to know a new chic, there’s always something captivating or meaningful about her that just catches you for that instant, you become interested and want to know more about her/the band. You dig deeper and you listen to more about her, and how they evolve, and the tunes and lyrics are like her character and personality.

And like relationships, sometimes bands fail to impress you after a while, and either part grows weary of the other and it becomes nothing more than another tune that you have heard before.

null

I used to be a person who’s more encouraged and keen to the tune and flow by which music is born, up till now i still can’t tune a guitar by ear, i know not no scales of a musical background, pitch and tune are not associated with my voice,  but i still find the great urge to learn songs that i’m really interested in and know that i can decently attempt to play.

Learning a new song everytime is a unique and fulfilling experience, something that has really become an avenue from which i can really express my feelings and emotions that have been kept inside.

Indeed sometimes playing tunes on the guitar only makes the pain more unbearing, but the opportunity to have an avenue of release rather then unpleasnt alcholicsm. drug induction and other miscelleanous sins is something i appreciate.

nullSo i really love it when people share the musical knowledge and interest with me, even if its something i totally do not like and approve of, there will always be the oportunity by which you meet someone who makes you expand your musical horizon, and in turn life as it is.

In recent times i’ve also grown to focus more on the lyrics by which the artistes produce, mainly because of my initial prejudice of same chorded songs. Case in point Oasis.

Listen to 20 of their songs, and i’m quite sure you will at least 3 or 4 songs that sound similar even to tone deaf people, yet the beauty by which Liam and Noel construct the lyrics really astounds me.

You know that feeling you get, You feel you’re older than time- The Importance of being idle
I hate the way that even though you, know you’re wrong you say you’re right- Married with children
I hitched a ride with my soul, by the side of the road, just as the sky turned black, i took a walk with my fame- Hey Now

It’s amazing how one can derive and conceptualise so many different words from a similar tune, i’ve grown to learn and appreciate that ability by which lyricist do so. Hopefully some day the torments and issues of hopeful positive enlightment will be a source from which i can express myself to the people around me.

And yes i’m not going to Miss Oasis this time round

So maybe, you;re gonna be the one that saves me

You can't take Teh away from us

70 cents is all it takes to get the conversation going.

You may get it in a grande, You may like to call it latte, You may eat it with prata, You may need all the alia.

But the fact that this simple ancient beverage, no matter the era or generation that it has been drank, is the source by which ingenuity, creativity and everything that makes up life stems from.

It allows us to take the break and realise just what the years mean to us.

Think teh.

We are four men who love our teh.
